Founded in 2013 by Tony Caruso, Interstate Diesel of Idaho is an independently owned and operated diesel repair shop.
Built on decades of industry experience, we provide quality service and repair in a timely and affordable manner for all customers. Interstate Diesel of Idaho hopes to change the perception of the diesel repair industry by operating on its core principles: trust, respect, unity, cooperation, and knowledge.
In 2018, Dan joined Tony and the two of them went from primarily working in the field off of service trucks to a brick and mortar shop shortly after. IDI has continued its steady growth ever since.

Dan
Not only is our Shop Manager Dan the absolute gentleman of IDI, but he is also a veritable diesel whisperer who specializes in diesel pickups. While Tony was tinkering on his CJ5, Dan was rebuilding a CJ6, which not only solidified Dan’s love of classic vehicles, but his and Tony’s friendship as well. Dan loves all things outdoors. If you can’t find him at the shop, expect that he is camping, biking, exploring with his family.
Tony
Our founder and owner started turning wrenches in his teens when he rebuilt a CJ5 (see Dan). Since then, he’s been a mechanic for a touring rock band, in the oil fields of North Dakota, and several well known shops including CAT, Kenworth, and International. He is ASE certified and celebrated his 20-year mechanic-versary in 2021. You can find him rafting on Idaho’s whitewater or relaxing with his family when he’s not in the shop.
